Chichowicz - Long Tone and Flow Studies for Trombone, Euphonium and Tuba

I am very pleased to announce the release of our fourth book, Vincent Cichowicz’ Long Tone and Flow Studies for Trombone, Euphonium and Tuba. With the assistance of Chicago Symphony Principal Trombone, Jay Friedman, New York Philharmonic Principal Trombone Joseph Alessi, Chicago Symphony Second Trombone Michael Mulcahy, International Euphonium soloist, Steven Mead and Los Angeles Free Lance Studio Trombonist, Nick Lane and our master editor and mentor Rob Roy McGregor, we feel we have stayed true to the spirit of what my father used with all of his students that helped them play in a much more relaxed and efficient manner.

The new book is 90 pages long, so we added coil binding to make it easier to place on a music stand. It contains bass clef versions of Vincent Cichowicz’s VC 1 Long Tone Studies along with the first 40 of his Flow Studies adapted and arranged for trombone, euphonium and tuba by Los Angeles studio trombonist and arranger, Nick Lane. What Nick has done is to make sure all of the etudes were transcribed into easily executable keys and registers for both slide and valved low brass instruments. The etudes have all been play tested and contain appropriate markings to help the student interpret the etudes in the manner the composer intended.

The book also contains Vincent Cichowicz’s interview with the Instrumentalist on brass pedagogy and Larry Knopp’s original guide to practicing the Flow Studies from the trumpet version of Vincent Cichowicz’s Flow Studies-Volume One.

We hope this book will be beneficial to our low brass brothers and sisters and it will be available on the website on May 21st, 2018! The book price is $31.95
