Attaingnant: Pavenne, from Neuf Basses Dances. Pavans were often used to begin an evenings dancing.
d Estrees: Les Buffons, from Tiers Livres de Danseries, Paris 1559. Less Bouffons was a sword dance in which steps and movements owe something to the techniques of fencing. Lively but not too rapid.
Gervaise: Allemande, from Troisieme Livre de Danceries, Paris 1557. This is a dance of moderate to quick tempo.
Susato: Ronde, Saltarelle, Gaillard, Quatre Branle, Allemande,Nachtanz
Widmann: Tanz a 4, 1611. This piece is somewhat akin to an allemande or a branle.
