This is Bertold Hummel's last work: well- known and less known Christmas carols with only one counterpart - seemingly reduced to the bare essentials. The composer and Sepp Wurster, the painter, had been friends for a very long time. The pictures illustrating this volume - though not explicitly created for it - still perfectly reflect the inner mood within the songs.
