The original commission for Concerto was sponsored by the National Flute Association, with the World Premiere by Jan Gippo given at the 24th NFA Annual Convention, 1996. Recorded by Sir James Galway w ith Liebermann conducting the London Mozart Players, Concerto for Piccolo has immediately vaulted into prominence in the piccolo's repertoire and has become a much-loved work for the smallest flute. I t is now published for the first time in orchestral study score form.
