He was educated at Eton College, and went on to compose music for 90 stage works, including plays, masques, pantomimes, and operas. Today, Arne is best known as the composer of "Rule, Britannia!" Thomas Arne died on March 5th, 1778, and is buried at Saint Paul's Covent Garden, London.
