Dame Julian of Norwich lived during dark days, yet her unwavering devotion to God allowed her to see her troubled world with a sense of compassion and optimism. Sometimes our contemporary lives feel like those dark ages. This anthem is born of some of those recent dark days. Fallujah, Iraq, March 2004; Tucson, Arizona January 2011 . . . both violent, nightmare experiences of loss and deep pain. But through it all the words of Dame Julian still ring true---with God in Jesus Christ---all shall be well. Nothing can separate us from God's love.
