Blessing and Honor is an anthem for Palm Sunday, Easter, or Ascension that may also be appropriate for services of communion, baptism, confirmation, or stewardship, as well as Christ the King Sunday and Epiphany, especially the baptism of Jesus. In addition to the standard lectionary readings for the festal days, a suggested corresponding lectionary reading is Revelation 7: 12-14. One basic homilitical theme is that Christ demands total allegiance.
