Inspired by a Moldavian Doina, this 6 minute concert duet for two guitars presents characteristic rhythms and melodies of Balkan, Tzigane and klezmer music. The piece begins calmly with a highly ornamented prelude, where the two "prepared" guitars imitate the cimbalom. Next, the music becomes agitated to the point of exuberance, before closing with a simple and tender song, typical of the Moldavian lament: the "Doina". This duet is intended for advanced students or professional guitarists.
