Elegiac Motives [Alf:81-CB2039]

Elegiac Motives was commissioned in memory of David McGovern who died tragically at the beginning of his teenage years. The work is based on the tone row D-A-D-C-G-E, which are the note related letters in David's name. Derivatives and harmonic material used in the work are generated from the row. This piece combines both a reflective feel as well as sections of youthful energy.
