Festive Ode [Alf:36-10100209]

Based on a five-note motif and using pedal tones and chromatic harmonies, this overture-like work is a great concert or contest piece for good high school groups as well as university and community bands. A balance of bombast and sensitive lyricism (with a few short solo exposures), without extremes of ranges, it is a solid piece of band writing from a master composer.
