Karol Szymanowski (1882-1937) wrote these Four Etudes, Op. 4 for piano between 1900-1902. Much like his other early works, these etudes are influenced by Chopin and Scriabin. The most well-known is the lyrical and melancholic No. 3 in B-flat minor. Etudes: No. 1. Allegro moderato (E-flat minor); No. 2. Allegro molto (G-flat Major); No. 3. Andante (B-flat minor); No. 4. Allegro (C Major).
