The text for this remarkable work was selected from different sections of William Blake's "Four Zoas", which are identified with the four fundamental aspects of Man: his body, his reason, his emotions, and his imagination. The work was commissioned by CBS Television for presentation and the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. in 1973. IMAGES OF MAN is an eight-movement work, scored for Soprano, Mezzo-soprano, Tenor and Baritone Soloists, Mixed Chorus, Flute (Piccolo), Horn, Cello, Harp and Percussion. The vocal score contains a piano reduction for rehearsal purposes.
