Impressioni dal Vero (Impressions from Life) consists of three, three-movement suites of strikingly colored, harmonically arresting, melodious music. Gian Francesco Malipiero (1882-1973) describes these pieces as a "musical echo of certain sensations," not an exact reflection of what he had seen or heard. The titles give some impression of these atmospheric pieces: I. Festa in Val d'Inferno (Festival in the Valley of Hell); II. I Galli (The Cockerels); III.
