Alban Berg (1885-1935) composed his KAMMERKONZERT FœR KLAVIER UND GEIGE MIT 13 BL„SERN (Chamber Concerto for Piano and Violin with 13 Wind Instruments) between the years 1923 and 1925. Dedicated to his teacher Arnold Schĥenberg for his 50th birthday, it premiered on March 19th, 1927. The structure of the work explores intricate mathematical relationships. It has three movements: 1. Thema scherzoso con variazioni 2. Adagio 3. Rondo ritmico con introduzione. Instrumentation: Solo Pno.Solo Vn: 1+Picc.1+EH.1+Eb+BCl.1+CBsn: 2.1.1.0. The complete set of solo parts and the 13 wind parts is available through Edwin F. Kalmus (A932590), but a version for solo piano, solo violin, and piano reduction of the 13 wind parts may also be performed by purchasing two copies of the solo piano part (A932548PNO), which includes the piano reduction, and one copy of the solo violin part (A932548VN).
