This majestic anthem for the Easter season might be a challenge for some choirs, but it is well worth the effort. Opening with an ethereal 13th century chant, the work moves into a stately setting of the title hymn in the men's voices with the women's voices echoing a reminder of the chant. After a four-part a cappella verse of the Welsh tune, the piece comes to a glorious close with choir and congregation joining together in 'Christ, the Lord, Is Ris'n Today.'
