The well-known Hebrew folk melody is a perfect setting for Patrick Liebergen's text of supplication. The work begins with all voices stating the melody in unison, followed by a brief homophonic passage. The second statement of the tune begins the round, which interweaves both the vocal and instrumental lines in this moving work for Lent or Holy Week. An optional part for C-instrument (oboe or flute) is included in the score.
