In a style similar to Hopson's popular 'Gift of Love,' the composer brings us an original setting of the 19th-century hymn text. The first verse reveals Hopson's lyric melody in unison, while the second verse is set for SATB voices. Verse 3 employs men and women in a graceful canon, and the work ends with an Amen, which on its own would make an ideal benediction response.
