An eight-measure introduction sets the stage for a delightful nocturne. The melody is voiced in double thirds over an arpeggiated bass (with damper pedal). A showy scale passage (cadenza) escorts the music back to the opening introduction. A delicious surprise ending chord to the piece on a G chord. C minor, mixed meter (main theme in 4/4 meter).
