Nether by Rebecca Saunders is a 31-minute work for soprano, 19 musicians and conductor. It originally formed a module of Yes (2017), an 82-minute large-scale spatial performance, which explores parts of Molly Bloom's monologue, the final chapter of James Joyce's Ulysses. This stand-alone version of Nether is significantly expanded, reworked, and extended by 5 minutes.

Nether was premiered on 31 October 2019 at the Essen NOW! festival by Juliet Fraser (soprano) and Ensemble Musikfabrik, conducted by Bas Wiegers.

The full score (EP 14455) is available for sale as part of the Peters Contemporary Library and includes a separate brochure of detailed explanatory notes. The performance material can be hired.
