Sergei Rachmaninoff's (1873-1943) 6 ROMANCES, Op. 4 was written for voice and piano between 1890-1893. Each of the six songs sets text by a different Russian writer. This edition of the beautiful fourth song in the collection, OH, CEASE THY SINGING, MAIDEN FAIR, was revised by famed violin virtuoso Fritz Kreisler, who also wrote a violin obbligato part, expanding the sound of the accompaniment.
