Contestants will be asked to prepare all four required pieces. In the event that any division has more than twenty contestants, a final round will be held.

PRIMARY (Age 10 and under)

• Gretchaninoff: Cradle Song from Children’s Book Op. 98
• Muzio Clementi: Sonatina in G Major, Op. 36 no. 2 (I. Allegretto)

JUNIOR (Age 13 and under)

• W. F. Bach: Allegro in A Major (Vol. 37 Classics to Moderns: D.C. & repeats)
• Mendelssohn: Venetian Boat Song in G minor, Op. 19 no.6 from Song Without Words
• Haydn: La Roxelane Variations (Kalmus or any edition)
• Dmitri Kabalevsky: Sonatina in C Major, Op. 13 no. 1 (III. Presto)

INTERMEDIATE (Age 16 and under)

• J. S. Bach: Sinfonia No. 2 in C minor
• Beethoven: Sonata Op. 10 no.1 (I. Allegro con brio) or Sonata Op. 10 no. 2 (I. Allegro)
• Chopin-Liszt: The Maiden’s Wish
• Barber: Excursion No. 1

YOUNG ARTIST (Age 22 and under) Applicants are eligible to participate if they have not yet completed their undergraduate degree. 

• Prelude & Fugue from J.S. Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier Book I or II
• First movement of a Sonata by Haydn, Mozart, or Beethoven
• Any work by Chopin, Liszt, or Brahms (not exceeding 7 minutes)
• Dmitri Kabalevsky: Prelude in D minor, Op. 38 no. 24
