Plus Minus is a 30-minute free realization of Stockhausen's open score composition of the same name from 1963. It refers to all 7 pages of the open score and utilizes two layers of activity: a trio of cello, piano, clarinet and a second layer consisting of trumpet, trombone, percussion, guitar, and accordion. Plus Minus enters into a dialogue with the rules of the open score that makes it a living work animated by the energy produced by a confrontation with, and working out of, Stockhausen's serial thinking.
