Tutti chords in the placid and beautiful prelude present opportunities to work on ensemble intonation, then yield to running eighth notes handed off between instruments. In the traditional 6/8 meter and minor mode, the Tarantella is spirited and lively, with the percussion section driving the rhythm all the way to the climactic ending!
