Joseph Cardon was born in Brussels in 1783, and died there in 1850. Apart from his "Trois duos concertants", only his authorship of the composition presented here could be proved until today. These Quatuor pour quatre flutes has been conserved in the form of one single printed edition only and is today owned by the Biblioth?que Royal Albert in Brussels.
