River Run Canyon was inspired by a white water rafting excursion in the high elevations of the Rocky Mountains. Feel the spray in your face as it opens with the rise, fall, and brief hesitations experienced while riding the river current over and around various rock formations. Eventually the waters deepen and become placid before turning tumultuous once again. There are solo opportunities for clarinet, alto sax, and trumpet in this memorable melody and interesting rhythmic overture.
