In 1892 Antonn DvorĦk (1841-1904) embarked on a "farewell" tour of Bohemian and Moravian cities prior to departing for the United States, and he chose his friends, violinist Ferdinand Lachner and cellist HanuĊĦ Wihan, as travel companions. For the tour DvorĦk arranged some of his earlier works for Wihan and he also wrote a completely new Rondo in G minor for solo cello with piano accompaniment.
