Edward Elgar's Sea Pictures, Op. 37, was first performed in its version for contralto and orchestra under the direction of the composer on October 5, 1899 at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival. Donning a mermaid dress, Clara Butt performed the vocal part. The version for piano and low voice is presented in this Kalmus edition.
