Tender, nostalgic, gentle, thoughtful, wishful -- all describe this very playable, very listenable solo arrangement of a favorite American folk song. Carrie Kraft has captured the essence of personal longing in the lovely melody. Sometimes there's a solo voice, sometimes a duet, sometimes luscious harmonies. There's a touch of homesickness implied with the unexpected fragment of 'Dixie' that slips in. A late intermediate solo, it will also please more advanced players and will add a special touch to programs and recitals.
