Sonata "Hommage a Leo Brouwer" [CF:ZM33440]

The works of Stuttgart-born composer Ulrich Wedlich (*1954) range from avantgarde and experimental electronic music, chamber music and symphonies to pop arrangements. The main focus lies on extensive work for the guitar with various instrumentation. The sonata presented here which consists of three movements was composed and performed for the first time in 1995. Although melodically and rhythmically indebted to popular music, the formal properties of the work developed from the techniques of classical composition.
