Considered the father of the French school of violin playing, Jean Marie Leclair (1697-1764) dedicated his fourth book of violin sonatas, Op. 9 to Princess Anne of Orange of the Netherlands. No. 3 is his most famous work displaying national styles and virtuosity. This version of SONATA in D Major, Op. 9, No. 3 'Tombeau' is orchestrated by Conrad Christopher Held for string orchestra.
