Sonatinas are short, usually less demanding sonatas that are often intended for beginners. In this edition, Louis Kĥhler and Adolf Ruthardt collect 30 of the most popular works by Kuhlau, Clementi and Dussek as well as by the best-known composers such as Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. Both volumes are arranged roughly chronologically, and this one contains 17 sonatinas by the aforementioned composers.
