Spike [CF:PE019]

Taking as its starting point the most primitive of musical ideas, the repetition of a single note, Spike moves through many environments, rising and falling in waves of intensity ‚Äî some ecstatic, some dark, some effervescent ‚Äî all the while maintaining this primary impulse, tapping out a one-note rhythm. Originally conceived as a solo piano work for Swedish virtuoso Peter Jablonski, this arrangement for marimba, vibraphone and piano has been performed by Dame Evelyn Glennie.
