Half of the performing duo with Aleksey Igudesman, Hyung-ki Joo wrote his first string quartet in his final term at the Yehudi Menuhin School for a graduation concert. At the time, the young composer was intrigued by various talents in the arts, and chose six to whom he would pay musical tribute.
