The String Trio No. 2 "Pas de Trois" is a critical reflection on the human (in)ability to engage in dialogue, about "talking past each other", about "not understanding" the respective dialogue partner, and about the (lack of) willingness to listen. In the music, this is emphasised at many points in the work through different time levels in, and indifferently structured, often contradictory compositional means (tonal colours,harmonic-melodic sequences, articulations etc.) with which the 3 musicians act. In a few places, the common ground, the togetherness succeeds: moments of powerfully released energies and hopes.
