French composer Henri Rabaud (1873-1949) composed the incidental music for an adaptation of Shakespeare's THE MERCHANT OF VENICE (LE MARCHAND DE VENISE) by writer and Rabaud librettist Lucien Nİpoty. For the incidental music, Rabaud arranged and orchestrated pieces composed by the various musicians of Queen Elizabeth's court. Andante (music by William Byrd); III. Allegro (music by Giles Farnaby); IV. Lent (music by Giles Farnaby). Instrumentation: 1.1.0.1: 0.2.0.0: Perc(1): Harp.Org(Harmonium).Hpschrd(Clavecin): Str (9-8-7-6-5 in set). Reprint edition.
