The fourth of Persichetti's 13 works for band is his elegant monument of the literature, Symphony No. 6, which the composer included among his numbered symphonies (all the others being for orchestra). Cast in the traditional 4-movement structure, Persichetti's symphony was among the first major serious concert works composed for wind ensemble, and it still occupies that role as a cornerstone of the literature. The present edition is an 11" x 14" conductor-size replica of standard score included in the complete set.
