The THEME AND VARIATIONS is the third movement from Arthur Foote's (1853-1937) STRING QUARTET, Op. 32. A lesser-known work by this significant American composer, it is a welcome addition to the string quartet repertoire. The complete work premiered in Boston on February 2, 1894, by the Kneisel Quartet, though only the this third movement was ever published (1901). Reprint edition.
