Bernardo Pasquini (1637 - 1710) worked as an organist at various churches in Rome. The piece "Folia da Espagna" had originally been composed for keyboard instruments (harpsichord). The Englishman William Byrd (1543 - 1623) worked as a court organist at the Chapel Royal in London and was the most important composer of the Tudor period. He wrote music for the Catholic and Anglican Churches, works for string instruments, madrigals and canons. The versions presented here for a mallet duet are of easy difficulty and are especially suited for young percussion players who are looking for material they can use for soirées, background music or Christmas concerts.
