Visions of Arctic: Night for solo clarinet, symphony orchestra (comprising single wind, triple brass, percussion, piano, harp and strings) and electronics is EĊĦenvalds' Liepaja Concerto No. 4 written for the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra in 2012. A 25-minute clarinet concerto, it is inspired by the natural phenomena and grandeur of the Baltic landscape and night sky. It features extended tonality and scintillating timbres, and makes sparing use of electronics to enhance the spatial scale of the soundscape.
