'If we saw a trough where animals were feeding, would we see a bed prepared for royalty? If we saw a stable, would we see a palace -- would we understand its place in history?' Thus begins the journey that leads us to the manger, where the composer poses the eternal question: 'If we saw Him face to face, would we know Him? Would we recognize God's Son?' This inspired work prepares our hearts for the Christmas season and to accept God's greatest of gifts, His Son. An optional part for C-instrument (recorder, flute, or oboe) is included in the score.
