Paul Peuerl (b. 1570/80 - d. after 1625) Austrian composer and organ builder. Initially organist at Horn, near Krems, from 1602, he became Protestant organist in Steyr in 1609 but lost this post on his return to Catholicism. His 4-part Newen Padovanen ... (1611) was the first German ensemble publication to group dances into 4-movement variation suites, each movement being based on the same material. He also published two further volumes of dances, and one of songs.
