Alec Rowley, born in London on March 13th, 1892, was an English composer, organist, pianist, teacher, lecturer, and writer on music. He taught composition at Trinity College in London from 1920 until his death, and his name was known to many through his writing and the many educational pieces he wrote, played by many a beginner or amateur musician. Alec Rowley died on January 11th, 1958, on the tennis court.
