The first section contains: Brief introduction to Recorder. Most notes and rhythms are introduced using student/teacher duets. Explanation of rhythms, musical symbols, helpful hints are spread throughout the book. Lower octave notes covered: B,A,G,C,F,E,D,C,Bb,F sharp. Also introduced are ties, slurs and staccato marks. Songs are from the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Popular Folk. In the second section , the student will finish learning the basic notes, learn much more about rhythm, expand his repertoire with pieces chosen from the Baroque, Classical & Folk literature and learn more about interpretation and ornamentation. New rhythms are introduced in duet form so the teacher can be a guide. Notes added are high: E,F,G,A,F sharp,C sharp,D sharp, G sharp (low). Discussed are Arpeggios, scales, enharmonic notes and musical terms. Included is a fingering chart of notes learned.
