Saxophonist-turned-composer Daniel Dorff has a strong affinity for the beautiful lyricism and lush harmonies of Puccini, and for the hot style of 1940’s swing bands. This 3-minute hybrid is classy enough to punctuate a formal recital, and familiar enough for pops and parties, as Dorff takes Musetta out of La Bohème’s poignant café for a swinging night on the town in “big band” style.
