The impressive Marian Anderson String Quartet has established a Continuing the Legacy commissioning project, to honor the 75th anniversary of their namesake's performance at the Lincoln Memorial, as well as their own 25th anniversary. Hailstork is one of a handful of American composers invited to create a 21st century string quartet based upon "songs of the African Diaspora."
