La Follia - ScP. Contributors: Falconiero. Recorder with Keyboard or Continuo (SS/AA VdG, Pf/H). Score and Parts. Publisher's category: Recorder with Keyboard or Continuo.

Falconiero has to wait until almost his 60th year before getting a position in his native city of Naples. In 1647 he was made Musical Director at the Royal Court (at that time part of Spain).
The reissue of the anonymous treble recorder arrangement of A. Corellis "Follia" (London, 1702) has made his series of variations on an unchanged bass line very popular among recorder players. Andrea Falconieros work is an early example - taken from his collection of instrumental music published 1650 in Naples. It was written for violin, but is very suitable for descant or treble recorders. It is a welcome addition to the recorder repertoire of the early baroque period.
12 page score with parts.
