Textures, for two percussionists and two pianists, utilizes the wide breadth of sounds percussion instruments are able to create. Lansky instructs the players to find metals that have different decays, skins that are not too "boomy" or with a "twang", wood blocks, and keyboard instruments - creating a world of sound. Written in eight short pieces, this work is for advanced performers.

2 Pianos, Percussion 1:, Metals 1 and 2 (Two different pitches, mid-range Almglocken, Agogo bells, etc.), Metals 3 and 4 (Two different pitches, metals with more ring than metals 1 and 2, perhaps something like bell plates, i.e. with longer decay), Skins 1 and 2 (Midrange Toms, low and high, not too "boomy"), Skins 3 and 4 (Two different skins with a "twang" - dumbek, timbale, conga, djembe, etc.), Glockenspiel, Marimba (Five Octaves), Percussion 2:, Woods (Four woods, low to high, mix of temple blocks, wood blocks, etc., plus 3 "Slats", low to high), Crotales (One octave, chromatic), Vibraphone (Motor not needed)
