Born in Stuttgart on November 24, 1690, Charles Theodore Pachelbel (son of Johann Pachelbel, composer of the famous 'Canon') moved to Boston in 1734, and shortly afterward to Newport, Rhode Island, settling in Charleston, South Carolina for the rest of his life (he was buried on September 15th, 1750).
