Paul Richards.
New York City-based composer Paul Richards works with diverse musical genres, and this is reflected in Medium Funk Prelude, a brief dance in which a small group of figures are transformed and tossed about in the ensemble. Its title was in fact inspired by tempo markings in a jazz fake book. An unconventional yet challenging and exciting work for the advanced high school or university ensemble.
