Fibich was a noted Czech composer of his time, although little known today. Perhaps the most fascinating of his piano works is the extensive collection of Nálady, Dojmy a Upomínky. Many of these 376 charming miniatures were the product of his relationship with a girl pupil, who later became his mistress. Whenever they met Fibich would present her with a new piece, sometimes just a single line and at other times two or three pages. Twenty-six of the easier of these pieces are included in this album, togeth er with two other pieces.
